Walmart Canada Clothing Deals: March 17, 2012

Thanks to a helpful tip on our Facebook page, I decided to check out the winter clearance at Walmart today. I didn’t find any cheap hats and that sort of thing (except for baby stuff), but I did luck out on toddler clothes! Lots of stuff for Elliott and the new baby. I even found a few shirts for myself (even though they won’t fit for a little while)!

    1. Great deals! I’ll have to check out Walmart & see if there’s any kids stuff left. I’ve been avoiding spending any money & thus, pretty much any store other than the grocery store, but it does pay to stock up on things when you find good discounts like these :)

I buy the majority of my kids clothes at the end of season sales too. I’ve been pretty lucky over the past few years with Old Navy Groupon’s as well. The last two winters, I’ve got over $300 worth of Old Navy clothes each winter for just more than $20 (that’s 2 of the Groupons – $10 each for a $20 voucher) . That’s usually been pants, shirts, socks, snowsuits, sweaters, etc for both my kids. I usually also hit Walmart. Last August, I got 9 short/tee sets each for my kids – which was worth $270 for just over $50. I take the majority of the clothes to the consigment store when they’ve outgrown them and do quite well (my consignment store also sells toys and kids books/movies – which I also take in). I usually cash out my account twice a year and usually get between $100-$150 each time. It’s paid for my shopping sprees plus bought a few items that I didn’t get a huge deal on (rubber boots, etc). Mind you, I usually find those at the consigment store for a fraction of the price too!!!

I always buy my kids next season wardrobe at the end of this season. Example: In January/February I make a list of what my kids will need for next fall/winter. 5 pants, 7 shirts, socks, boots and coats. I get all name brand clothes at a fraction of the cost.
My mom is retired and has time to search for things in her city that I can’t find where I am. When a Zellers was clearing out she got my kids entire summer wardrobe for the next summer, swimsuits, sunglasses and all. 2 dresses, 6 shorts total, 8 t shirts,, 2 bathing suits and 2 pair of sunglasses for $93.
For the name brand stuff I make sure I launder it carefully and resell it at the end of the season at a used kids clothing place. I don’t make alot but it’s been enough to buy some rubber boots or some toys for Christmas presents.
