    1. Cassie says:

Grant: I didn’t get any of those ones.

rebecca: Yes, I have. I have always used them at Walmart.

    2. rebecca says:

      GREAT JOB…
I have a answer though about the 5$ gas cards. Where can they be used? And have you ALWAYS got your mail in rebate gas card back?

    3. Grant says:

I have a question about the cereal in th shops that have the free breakfast item coupon. Have you bought any recently? I just went to enter my codes and it tells me they’re all out of coupons. I’m so disappointed. Why print that many pin codes. I was looking forward to those coupons for free tea bags and bananas! Thx.

Katerina: “As a taxpayer you have the right to offer your opinion”. What nonsense!

    4. BigDog says:

I LOVE seeing your weekly deals! And your menu plans and recipes help me out a lot when I’m stuck in a menu rut!!
Thanks for the heads up on the cereal with the gas cards! And now I need to check out that granola–it’s gotta be decent if you paid full price for it!!

    5. Cassie says:

Just because I “buy” something, doesn’t mean my family will eat it. We donate ALL the time. If I can get something cheap enough (FREE, in this case), I will pick it up and donate it. We do eat the sugary cereal occasionally, though, but not usually for breakfast – more so as snacks.

PrairieBargainista: I see what you’re saying! You are correct about the SDM post, but not this one, as I never claim the $5 gas cards when I use them, I treat them as if I’m just paying cash.

    6. PrairieBargainista says:

I’m not trying to hate or troll but you do double-count your savings all the time. Here is an example: http://www.mrsjanuary.com/my-canadian-shopping-deals/shoppers-drug-mart-canada-20x-points-deals-3/ You can’t make ~$8 on this transaction and then use those same points down the road to get stuff for “free”.

    7. Stacey says:

Some of you people are so rude!! It is no one’s business what Mrs. J buys for her family!!

Also, re: the double dipping – what are you talking about? How on earth do you you figure she is double dipping?

If you don’t like the website, don’t visit! I think Mrs. January does a great job and that the people posting nasty things are people who clearly have nothing better to do with their time than be nasty and rude.

I am just blown away by the rudeness displayed here.

I hope I never meet any of you self – righteous blowhards in real life.

Anyway, Mrs. January – Thanks for all the great info you have on your site!

Anyone who reads Cassie’s posts and follows this site knows that Cassie spends time on her menu every week to make sure her family are eating healthy good meals. Yes those cereals are not the best but Cassie also buys lots of fruit, veggies, protein and grains, etc, that most families are not. So many children go hungry or those who don’t eat nothing but junk food.

People Who Live In Glass Houses Should Not Throw Stones…

    9. Jaclyn says:

My mother always taught me that if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all. Those who are posting rude comments should find a new website to bash people. This is a great site for couponers to learn and share and Mrs. J does a magnificent job and I am genuinely excited to see her deals every week! If the malicious comments keep up Mrs. J could remove the option of posting comments altogether, so to those of you out there with a not so nice opinion keep your thoughts to yourself and don’t ruin it for the rest of us.
And btw I do buy Fruit Loops and “junk” foods for my kids and husband, we call it “treat” food and when theres a good deal I use my coupons to buy my “treat” food :p
      Great job Cassie!!

    10. Katerina says:

Whilst I agree the savings are substantial, I agree with the comments of not needing all the junk.
And to stating opinions regarding peoples’ food choices, as a tax payer I feel that everyone should be entitled to state their opinions because when they develop diabetes, high blood pressure and a plethora of other health problems that I need to pay for, it is absolutely my free right to state that opinion. And there are no coupons for healthcare. Lol
With that being said, I think Cassie does a great job providing healthy food deals as well so I am not bashing her deals, just defending someone’s opinion as I feel people jump down anyone’s throat that even remotely mentions that most coupon deals are junk food. Not all, but most!

    11. Natalia says:

Great savings Cassie! However I was a bit surprised with your choice of groceries – all the sugary cereal and nestle stuff. I though you guys were doing healthy eating? I mean it was a GREAT deal, but would you donate most of the cereal? Do you often donate stuff that you find a great deal on but not using in your own household?

    12. Rose says:

@Carrie, its really none of your business what kind of food anyone buys :)

      Great job Cassie!!! :)

    13. Carrie says:

Haha John that’s funny. She’s not paying too much, but getting paid $10 to take a bunch of unhealthy foods off the shelves? It took time to gather and organize the coupons for this trip and it’s really not worth it. What is a bunch of sugar cereal and nestea going to do for anyone’s health? You couldn’t pay me to take that food… so savings really don’t matter.
I buy whole foods, natural foods, and a lot of organic stuff, mainly from the natural food section of Loblaws and I am very excited to save 10% on my grocery bill by using coupons and shopping sales.
