    Walmart Grocery Shopping Deals.

    Walmart Couponing

My husband and I dropped the kids off at Grandma’s house last night so we could have a kid-free weekend, and what is the first thing we did? Grocery shopping of course! We had a big day planned for today (dinner out, breakfast out, the movies, shopping for furniture), so we decided to get our grocery shopping done Friday night.

Here’s what we picked up (for those wondering about the double Checkout 51 rebates for some products, my husband and I both have an account, so we both did the rebates):

    Walmart – Shopping Deals, I Saved (46%)

Hi there Cassie! I want to thank you for posting your shop. I originally purchased corn pops and fruit loops at No Frills and realized they were not on sale. So I returned them, and because you were successful at Walmart I went there as well and price matched it as well. I was not sure if it would work because it says selected varieties…What do you say to ads like that? Is it luck of the person working or do able? Please advise and Thank you again you save dme money again.

      • Cassie Howard says:

Most of the locations that I will go to will price match “selected varieties”, you just need to call and confirm with the manager (which I did).

    2. Amanda says:

Wow I don’t normally disagree with you Cassie, but out here in Alberta the only Kelloggs cereals at No Frills on sale were, Rice Krispies (285g so not avail for coupon discount as the coupon states a bigger size) and Raisin Bran (which there is no coupon) it was NOT all Kelloggs cereals, so to price match on something that wasn’t on sale, and then use a coupon, is not a great comparison in this case… wondering if the Ontario No Frills flyer was different than out west?

Ours out west specifically shows a picture of Raisin Bran and Corn Flakes – no sugary cereal pictured… and if you actually GO to No Frills no sugary cereals are part of the ‘selected varieties’ so those that copy this strategy for a deal… I would not recommend it as ethical.

The store is at fault. They purposely do not specify which cereals are on sale. This is a poor promotion. The store WANTS you to come in an roam around and, maybe pick up more things.

I am becoming less of a fan of No Frills for this reason, and because they have small stock on great sales items, even if I am one of the first people in the store on the first day of the sale : O

I am going more and more to Freshco for their prices, good stock and low grocery bills : )

    3. Cathie M says:

For Checkout 51, if I buy 3 of an item, do I get the rebate 3 times?

    4. Natasha says:

Chicken is the cheapest at Maple Lodge Farms in MIssissauga, I go and stock up there

    5. Stephanie says:

What is Checkout 51? How does it work??

    6. Heather R says:

Hope you’re enjoying your kid free weekend!

    7. Virginia says:

Just wondering how your Costco shopping trips have been going and why you don’t buy chicken from there. Chicken is cheapest at Costco (unless you find a great sale price somewhere else) and its really good quality.

      • Cassie Howard says:

I have only gone twice, because it’s a bit out of the way for us and difficult to get to, but I do plan to drop by either this coming week, or next. As for chicken, it is extremely expensive there, so I will not buy it. I won’t spend more than $4/lb. and at the last time I was at Costco, I believe it was about $8/lb.

      • Jamie says:

Chicken is rarely cheapest at Costco…

    8. Karen says:

I had a great day also. $85,00 product pd $39.00 soLove check out 51 also
So if we have two account same house . does it have to be seperate bills.?

    9. Vicky says:

You can only have one account per smart phone and only use the receipt once however there is no limit to how many accounts one household can have. I imagine Cassie and her husband each have a receipt to use.

    10. Amie says:

I should add…. Did u do two desperate transactions? Or is the one reciept recognized for the two?

    11. Amie says:

There is a limit on the rebates for the mm juice and num nuns to 1 each I thought?
