I bought items to get the 20 dollar coupons from Pepsi but when I looked at my recipt I was 3 cents short of $20 before tax do you think they will give me the coupons?

Hi I have a question, do you have to pay taxes even if you end up don’t need to pay for anything after you given the coupons?
for example I have 3 coupons of the pro crest rinse and 3 coupons of the free OB glide floss with the purchase of the pro crest rinse, and 2 coupons of $4 off charmins products and 3 coupons of the $1 off coupons,

I went to one of the wal mart today and they charge me taxes even though I told them on the coupon it said the manufacture will cover the taxes of the face value.
they said the manufacture will only cover $4 of the coupons so I still need to pay taxes..
can any of you lady please tell me if I am wrong? sorry my English are not that good I just need a second opinion.. and if they are wrong what can I do to get back the money? because the person I spoke with she said she is the manager of that walmart and she also let me speak with a guy seem to have more authority (I hope I used the right word) then her also tell me the same I have to pay for the taxes..

btw : what I got was 3 travel size pro crest rinse, 3 free ob glide floss, and 12 charmin to go toilet seat covers.

but I had seen some of you lady came back with the receipt showing $0.. how does this work?
I really love couponing but every time when i try to use it it seem like these cashier always giving me the attitude.. as if I try to steal it from them or something..

hehe the only problem with that, is that when we ffirst moved here we did not need the paper due to not reading it, and not really caring to coupon or price match, so we had opted not to receive any of the papers. Are your free papers the only place you get the flyers from? And thank goodness I only missed out on 2 coupons from the insert haha, glad it was not any more than that. Wish it weren’t so slow going at the beginning to collect coupons! Hopefully by next month I’ll be saving a decent amount on my groceries

I was at Walmart the other day ( we are in B.C. & have a Super Center) & I price matched an item & then wanted to use a coupn on that same item & the cashier told me I could not do that anymore. I asked her why when I have done it before many times & she said they have been told not to allow that. I asked her if she could double check this since I had just done this the week before & was not told anything. She called customer service & they told her to accept both. SHe then tells me I got away with it this time but they will not allow it any more.
I felt bad, it was like she was telling me I did something wrong & got away with it but they would not let me do it again! Her attitude really stunk! Then o the way out my hubby said I bet you she was wrong & customer service told her you were right & that is wy she made such a stink…she was embarrassed & did not want to admit she had been wron about their policy.
Have any of you been told their policy has changed? Can you price match at your stores & then use coupons on the same items? I tried to e-mail Walmart to see if things have changed but they would not respond. Thank & enjoy your day!

Doing something like this was THE one thing that made the most difference in our budgeting. You can imagine without it what year end was like for us when 1/2 of our taxes were due Oct 31 (the other have was June 30!), our 1/2 beef order, 10/12 family birthdays between Aug 27 and Dec 18 and Christmas…then 1/2 car insurance due Jan 31!!! The gifts alone were a killer-have you ever added up what you spend each year? Scary!

Now we have a set amount that gets transferred over to a second bank account each pay for ALL bills, these included. I ignore that account as it gets into the several thousands quite often but almost all of our payments are from that account automatically except for car/home insurance and credit card, those I pay online. Hydro, gas, cable, newspaper, etc are all automatic payments that I don’t even have to think about.

Great resource! And the more you can include in that the better-you’ll be spending it anyhow, might just as well account for it!

Becca: Yes, there was an insert, but it only had 2 coupons in it. You don’t have to have a subscription to get the coupons. I get them with my free paper that has the weekly sales flyers in it.
