Easy Recipes: Tacos

Tacos Recipe

We looooove tacos in this house and usually make them a few times per month.

This recipe is super simple and it yields some pretty yummy results (if I do say so myself)!

Tacos (Print this recipe)

Ingredients:
- 1 Pound Lean Ground Beef
- 1/2 Cup Water
- 1/2 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1/2 Teaspoon Onion Powder
- 1 Teaspoon Salt
- 1 Teaspoon Pepper
- 1/2 Teaspoon Basil
- 1 Teaspoon Cumin
- 1/2 Teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
- 8 Tortilla Shells, Hard or Soft
- Tomatoes, Finely Diced (Optional)
- Sour Cream (Optional)
- Lettuce, Chopped
- Cheddar Cheese, Grated

Instructions:
1. Warm up a medium frying pan on medium heat.

2. Brown ground beef, 8-10 minutes. While meat is browning, mix together garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, basil, cumin and cayenne pepper.

3. Add spice mixture and water to ground beef and simmer for 10 minutes.

4. Add ground beef to taco shells, followed by cheese and then any toppings you desire.

Makes about 12 tacos.

@Jess why bother using a press when with my recipe its like making pancakes! sometimes you get a spot with a little too much mixture but you can easily spread it out, flip it and voila c’est fini!

I have a really yummy fajita recipe, if you like those. Instead of buying the mix at the store. All it is is sliced up chicken breasts, 3 cups of veggies, 1/4 cup Italian dressing, 2 tsp curry powder. Cook the chicken , then add veggies and cook until tender-crisp, then add in the dressing and curry and stir it up and serve on the small tortillas. Sooooo good! I’ve found if we use the little tortillas we get about 6-7 fajitas, if you use the big ones, about 4.

  3. That would be wonderful, Sara. Thank you!

Hey! I have a recipe for homemade cornmeal taco shells if you;d like them. They’re soft shells and the recipe makes so much! They’re the easiest thing to make and very inexpensive, especially compared to the premade ones. Great as a wrap afterwards as well :)
