I make these cookies every year to give as Christmas gifts and they are a huge hit each time I give them away. I’ve actually started making some extra batches to keep at home, though, because we love them too!
These cookies and soft, sweet and tangy – all at the same time. They are delicious!

making these tonight with the kids……can’t wait!!
Anne: Nope, you don’t need to.
Hi, Cassie,
These sound so delicious that I’d like to go out right now and buy some lemons! One question though, please: do you need to butter the baking sheets at all? Sometimes cookie dough sticks to unbuttered/ungreased cookie sheets, so I wouldn’t want that to happen here. Thanks!
And Happy Holidays to you, your family, and baby-to-be!
Beckie: Thank you! I’m so glad you like them.
Add the butter is in step 2!
This recipe sounds amazing! got everything to try it tonite!
These cookies are AWESOME! Thanks for sharing!
Hi Andrea- I would love your orange cookies recipe!
Wow – they look so much like the huge batch of orange cookies that I made on Thursday (Dec
last week!! It’s a recipe passed on from the Italian side of the family – super easy – simple ingredients (I’ve even used regular Oasis OJ – rather than fresh sqeezed – if I’m lazy or don’t have enough oranges in the fridge). They freeze well and make 60 cookies. Happy to share the recipe – if anyone wants it.
These sound delicious! Do they freeze well?
LOL! I just made an almost identical recipe yesterday, and they are delicious! So good in fact that I have to make a second (and third??) batch because hubbster ate too many and I had planned to give them as gifts
Yum! These remind me of cookies that my grandmas old Italian neighbor makes all the time. The recipe is very similar but they call them something else.
mmmm – im going out tomorrow to pick up some lemons so i can make this!
Its there now- Thank you!
Hey Mrs J. I would like to try this recipe. But when do you add the butter? Am I missing it? I can’t see in the instructions where the butter is!
Help!
