I can’t believe how easy it is to make applesauce. I’ve been making ours for the last year and I wish I had started sooner.
Not only does homemade applesauce taste much better than store-bought, it’s also a lot cheaper to make it yourself.
Homemade Applesauce Recipe
- Servings: 6
- 8 Apples, Peeled, Cored and Chopped
- 1 1/2 – 2 Cups Water
- 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
- 1/8 Teaspoon Nutmeg
- 1/2 Tablespoon Cinnamon
- 1 Teaspoon Vanilla
- Combine apples, sugar, water, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla in a large pot.
- Cover and cook over medium heat for 20 minutes.
- Puree in a blender or food processor. You can also mash them yourself if you like your applesauce a bit chunky.
