I have an healthier, quicker recipe for homemade granola. It is a cereal recipe, but I use it on plain yogurt.
2 1/2 cups large flake rolled oats
1/2 cup each of sliced almonds, sunflower seeds, wheat germ, and honey. You can also add ground flax seeds to this.
Mix oats, almonds, seeds and wheat germ together; stir in honey to coat. Spread on foil-lined cookie sheet.
Bake at 300F for 40 mins, stirring 3 times ( or about every 10 mins)
I prefer to drip the honey over the mixture after spreading in on the cookie sheet; I find it easier than trying to stir the honey around.
Makes about 4 cups. Per 1/4 cup; 149 cal, 5g Pro, 6g total fat ( 1g sat.), 22g carb, 3 g fibre

I just made this with Quick Cooking Rolled oats because it's all I had. It turned out just fine, just cut cooking time down to 30 minutes.

sandy: Hmm, it's hard to say, but the almonds and maple syrup are the most expensive items. Everything else is very cheap.

Jackie: Thanks for sharing, that looks good!

Monia: Just regular rolled oats that you can get at any grocery or bulk food store. Make sure not to use "Quick Cooking" rolled oats, though.
