Homemade Hamburger Helper: A How-To Guide

Suzanne from Chickens in the Road wrote a very detailed post on how to make your own homemade Hamburger Helper (a much healthier version than the junk you find in stores).

This is definitely going in my “to make” file!

We just made this for dinner tonite and it totally rocks!! My teenage son was able to easily whip it up, it was quick and very tasty. Never did like the packaged stuff. We made the Chili Cheese variety with a few dashes of Frank’s Red Hot on top….deelish. Thanks for sharing the link to Chickens in the Road’s blog. Lots of great ideas there.

Thank you for sharing this website! Our family likes the stroganoff kind (although I make a mean real beef stroganoff!) so we will give that a try when we want something quick.

Thanks, My kids love hamburger helper but with me having celiacs we don’t usually make it! But I should be able to make this gluten free and pass it off as Hamburger helper.

The link isn’t working for me – neither is the one that Kiki posted.
      Help?

Thanx for this website! Love this !!
Agreed this stuff can be great in terms of convenience but I much prefer making my own convenient and therefore healthier meals!
      Thanx again for the link!

Even easier if you brown up some burger ahead of time and freeze it in one pound amounts! I have a half can of spaghetti sauce leftover in the fridge, I think I need to turn that into hamburger helper for supper tonight. That will be my seasoning packet!

      No problem! Glad it worked!

Thanks Kiki! Worked like a charm.

Joline, link opened fine for me. But the website is chickensintheroad.com. Try this (copied from the link when opened) http://chickensintheroad.com/cooking/homemade-hamburger-helper/
