Slow Cooker Beef Stew Recipe

A perfect meal for any cold winter (or fall) night, this beef stew is super easy to make and tastes delicious.

I love it when my slow cooker is the one making dinner and not me!

We prefer this stew with chicken broth, but beef broth is tasty as well. :)

3. Cover and cook on low for about 6-7 hours.

Vanessa: Not completely.. and nope, no stirring required. That’s the beauty of using a slow cooker – less work!

  2. Vanessa says:

Mrs J – just a couple of questions about this recipe, it’s my first time using our new slow cooker and this is what we just made :) Should the broth be covering the veggies/meat? And do I need to stir it or anything throughout the day? I really am a newb at this slow cooker business, lol!

  3. Mrs January says:

Lisa: A bit of flour should help to thicken it up!

  4. Lisa says:

I made this recipe and mine doesnt look anything like the picture…. probably because I didn’t add a full 1/4 of butter… I didn’t want to over-do the butter and now I’m paying for it! grrr! Mine is all liquidy

  5. britney says:

ok because i believe mine is a 1.5 quart the smallest one I could find and it barely holds a can of spaghetti sauce

  6. Mrs January says:

britney: It’s just a small one.. probably one of the smallest that they make!

  7. britney says:

how big is your slow cooker, so that i can adjust the recipe to fit in my tiny one

  8. Julie says:

Looks YUMMY! Can’t wait to try it!

  9. kris says:

  10. Mrs January says:

  11. Teri says:

I was just wondering how much garlic you put in this stew, it doesn’t say in the ingredients list but it is in the body of the instructions
    Thanks
