Breastfast is the most important meal of your day, but it doesn’t have to be the most expensive. Here are some frugal meals that you can serve up for breakfast without having to worry about breaking the bank!
Pancakes & Fresh Fruit
Pancake mix is relatively inexpensive, but you could save even more money by making your own (try my recipe). Syrup is another thing that is not too costly (I still have to learn how to make that stuff myself!) and of course fresh fruit is always good.
Cold Cereal
If you use coupons, you will notice that there is an abundance of coupons for cold cereal. Combined with a sale, these coupons could net you a box of cereal (or 2, or 10!) for very cheap – maybe even free if you’re lucky!
BLT
Bacon, lettuce, tomato – stuffed between some bread and there is one tasty, cheap breakfast sandwhich for ya!
Bacon & Eggs
Bacon and eggs is something I think everyone should enjoy once a week or at least once a month. I know they may not exactly be the most healthy option but it’s okay to be a little naughty sometimes. You can even have bacon and eggs for dinner one night when you’re in a bind because you forgot to take meat out of the freezer to thaw (like I do ALL THE TIME).
Toast & Fruit Drink/Smoothie
Toast with jam (or peanut butter or margarine, or whatever else you’d like) alongside a nice tall glass of fresh fruit (pureed with orange juice & ice cubes, or milk & yogurt) is a tasty (and very cheap!) way to start your day. It’s also healthy which = BONUS!
Breakfast Burrito
All you need for this breakfast dish is some scrambled eggs, tortillas, a bit of cheese and whatever else your little heart desires. Add all of your ingredients on to your tortilla, roll it up and ENJOY!
Yogurt & Fresh Fruit
What could be better than a nice cold bowl full of yogurt and fresh fruit? Mmmm… creamy… Delicious and healthy too! Oh and let’s not forget – cheap!
I strongly believe that you should always eat something for breakfast, no matter how much of a hurry you’re in. Having food in your belly makes you much more pleasant to be around. It also gives you the nourishment needed to go on with your day, ready to get down to buisness.

Great ideas. Publix here in the Southeast has Buy One Get One Free sales on cold cereal all the time. Here’s a great idea. Pancakes with fresh fruit mixed in before cooking. Then add hot syrup and powdered sugar. Absolutely delicious and low cost.
thank you! and yes, those are my pancakes in the recipe pic.
Great ideas, your pancake recipe sounds great! Are those your pancakes in the recipe pic? Yum!
