Frugal Tip: Buy Tupperware From Yard Sales

Tupperware

Here is a frugal tip, sent in by a reader:

One of my favourite frugal tips is to find Tupperware at yard sales and thrift shops.

Because each piece has a lifetime warranty, if there is a crack in a lid or a cap missing, your local Tupperware lady will order a free replacement for you.

One time I found a juice pitcher with a cracked lid and they had stopped making that model, so I got a whole new pitcher – just for asking!

  3. Amanda says:

Yes, they do. I know because I sell it. If it’s no longer available they will give you the credit it is worth. My grandma gives me her old stuff all the time if its cracked she gets a brand new one! LOve Tupperware.

Also, good tip if you have a party you can get alot of your stuff for FREE!

  6. Mrs January says:

Definetely a great deal. Their warranty is awesome!

  7. Mia says:

How does this work? Do you just contact Tupperware through their website and say it’s cracked and you’d like to use the lifetime warranty to get a new one… and trade in the cracked one (with no receipt) for a new one?? I feel like I’ve been missing out on something awesome for my whole life. FILL ME IN ON THE DETAILS! lol.

  8. teachermum says:

Amanda, do they ever have access to older colours?

  9. Mrs January says:

Mia: I believe you have to get in touch with a local Tupperware consultant (you can look through Craigslist or Kijiji).

  10. Mia says:

This is amazing! I can’t wait to look for Tupperware now!

  11. Amanda says:

Teachermum: No that’s one bad thing is the colours change all the time!
Mia: If you go on the http://www.tupperware.ca you can find a consultant through there and all you have to do is give them your piece that is cracked and they will replace. No receipt needed. What area are you in ? Maybe I can help you or at least get you info on consultant.

  12. Michelle says:
