We go through knives like crazy in our house. I’m not sure why, but every time I turn around we need to replace a knife.
I have purchased various brands, but none of them seem to be able to handle the amount of use we put them through. They always go dull in just a few short months. Even a knife sharpener doesn’t help much.
When I received an email asking if I could review some knives by Cutco, to be honest, I was sure they would be just like the other knives that we have tried in the past. I thought for sure that they wouldn’t be able to withstand all of the use we put them through.
Boy, was I wrong. Cutco knives are amazing.
We were able to try a petite santoku and a santoku style trimmer (that we use for small breads), as well as a vegetable peeler. We don’t even use our other chef’s knives anymore (we had 2) – the petite santoku handles almost all of our kitchen jobs. We love it so much that we are planning to purchase one of their large santoku knives to accompany this smaller one.
The santoku style trimmer is very smooth as well, we loved it. As for the vegetable peeler – although it does work nicely, I don’t think it’s any better than the one we were using before.
