deals are fun.

September 2nd was my dad’s birthday and since it was a weekday we couldn’t drive down there to celebrate that day. Instead we had plans to go today. However, last night DH tells me that he promised his sister he would help her move today. Of course I have no problem with him helping her – in fact, I encourage it – you gotta be there for family! What really irked me is that he neglected to tell me WHEN he was going to help her so I could plan around it. As it turned out, I went to visit my family by myself.

I gave my mom and dad their thank you gifts (for taking care of our house and animals while we were away on our crappy honeymoon) which was $10 Tim Hortons, $20 Wal-Mart and $120 Price Chopper. We also got them a frame each with a picture of them and myself (my mom got a picture of her and me and my dad got a picture of him and me, get it?) at the wedding and also a photo album with wedding photos which they both really liked. We were just so appreciative of them helping us that we wanted to do something nice in return. I also gave my dad his birthday present and then we went out for dinner at Swiss Chalet (note to self: never go there again!).

Of course I had to go out and do a few deals while I was there but I swear it was my dad’s idea! He wanted to go use his gift cards to buy socks and groceries. Hah! I took advantage of the opportunity and snagged these deals (except the Nutro food and cat tins, which I got earlier this week but forgot to take a picture of):

- 2 Natural Choice Dog Food @ $11.99 = $23.98 – 2/FREE coupons = FREE! (saved = $23.98)
- 2 Natural Choice Cat Food @ $12.49 = $24.98 (saved including coupons = $27.98)
- 3 Toblerone @ .97 = $2.91 – 3/$1.00 coupons rung in as .97) = FREE! (saved = $2.91)
- 4 Busy Bone @ $2.97 = $11.88 – 4/$3.00 coupons = +.12 (saved = $12.00)
- 2 French’s Mustard @ .99 = $1.98 – $1.00 WUB2 = .98 (saved including coupon = $5.00)
- 2 Satin Care Shave Gel @ $1.86 = $3.72 – 2/$2.00 coupons = +.28 (saved including coupons = approx. $7.26)
- 1 Purina One Dog Food @ $5.98 – FREE coupon = FREE! (saved = $5.98)
- 7 Cat Food Tins @ .79 = $5.53 – 7/FREE coupons = FREE! (saved including coupons = $6.93)
Tax = $6.48

Total spent = $6.78
Total saved = $92.04

Now I am absolutely exhausted and ready for bed. My throat has been killing me all day and I just started to get the sniffles. Fantastic.

PS – I threw up this morning and immediately thought I was pregnant and then got sad when I realized that it was probably just because I was nervous about driving on the highway (hate it!). There’s no way I can be pregnant. Woe is me.

ash i know what you mean! it takes time to learn how to use coupons the right way, dont worry abut it. take your time. :) as for the razor coupons i bought a bunch off ebay for cheap, got a bunch of them from trades and also got a bunch from save.ca – one for my house and also ordered them to all of my friends and families’ houses so i got a ton. also my hubby got like 12 of them one day in downtown toronto when he was there. they were handing them out on the street and he asked forr a bunch and they gave them to him hehe

ps sorry for the typos, i hate this dark box ugh

I just don’t know how to use coupons properly lol, I have a bunch here but never use them, the only ones I have used are the razer ones, tolberone bar, and a FPC for Johnsons. Looked at some of your other posts, where do you find all the razer coupons? I have only gotten the 1?

Yesterday was the first time I brought my stack of coupons to the cashier yesterday. Everything I bought, I had a coupon for. I’m still not as awesome at you, saving like $80 on stuff, mainly because I don’t have pets I think. But I went to the same store again (because they had NO TAX after 5pm – Zehrs!) so I went and got more FREE fuzion razors, and… other stuff with my $1.00 coupons and such. At first, I turned red because I had so many coupons but today, the hot cashier guy was like “I’ve seen these before. They’re great.” I’m like yep – save.ca! He was mentioning the fusion razors on how they were so expensive, but the coupons I had were “awesome” lol. So it was pretty good. A little less nerve wrecking than yesterday with everyone lined up behind me waiting for the cashier to enter all the codes.

Today I spent $41, and the original price, before coupons, was $67!

Some day I will be good as you :P haha

You must have went to Walmart. They always know that the Toblerone bars are $0.97 when you present the $1.00 off coupons but usually don’t notice any other products that are below the coupon price (in my experience). Last weekend I went and bought:

A huge bottle of Fleecy $9.27 – $0.50 off coupon on bottle & $10.00 off coupon
    50g Toblerone bar $0.97 – $1.00 off coupon
    2X Satin Care shaving cream $1.86 each – 2X $2.00 off coupons
Alberto European hairspray $1.97 -$2.00 off coupon
Gillette Fusion Power Razor $4.00 (reg. $13.97) – $10.00 off coupon
6X International Delight Coffee Creamer $1.98 each
    Sub Total $ 4.31
    Tax $ 2.59
    Total $ 6.90 Saved $ 34.88!!!

Coupons were all rang through at full price except she made a comment on how the Toblerone was $0.97 not $1.00 but rang it through anyway. I must have had the world’s dumbest cashier because everything I bought was under the coupon value!

By the way hope you are feeling better!
