Today Erica came over and we braced the terrible weather to do some quick shopping. There was a great sale on pasta and I also needed to get some other foods as well, such as pumpkins, milk and cheese.
We hit the first store, Food Basics, and loaded up on pasta – only to be told the limit was 6. Yes sir, I know the limit is 6, but I have 2 different brands of pasta. It should be limit 6 per brand, it doesn’t state otherwise in the flyer. He looks at me as if I have three heads and says sorry. Yes, I’m sorry too. Sorry you are SO ANNOYING AND LAME. So. Erica gets 6, I get 6 – and then we go back through the store and to another cashier and we get more pasta. Ha. I win!
We stop at No Frills on the way home to pick up some of their sale items, including hamburger buns, yogurt, and 4 pounds of apples. On our way back to the car we see a sexy Escalade (my dream car – okay fine, SUV) and I just about fall over at the sight of it. It’s so pretty, I want one! Should we steal it? Come on, it’ll be fun! I promise I’ll give it back! Okay.. I can’t promise that. But come on, let’s DO IT! Yeah well, apparently this sexy vehicle has a not so sexy man in it and he is blocking traffic. His beautiful, massive SUV has the emergency lights on and he is just sitting in it. BLOCKING TRAFFIC. I mean yeah, we could drive around him, no big deal – but we shouldn’t have to. He was pretty much stopped in the middle of the parking lot. FIND A PARKING SPACE, THAT’S WHAT THEY’RE THERE FOR! Idiot.
Anywho, back to my fantabulous shopping. Here’s how everything came to be:

My mom did that with my siblings and I as well, but she never used coupons… it was just when there was a limit on purchasing certain items.
When I was younger, my mom used to take me, my brother and the neighbor kids to the grocery store with her so we could each have our carts and check out individually. Stupid coupon limits.
yah usually i dont have a problem if i get a few more than the limit, but this guy was SO not having any of that.
thanks for mentioning my blog! i have not gone shopping in the states with coupons, but i really want to! i hear it is so worth it.
thanks for the comment, jordan.
foooood basics, what what! haha ..sorry, i work there, so i gotta represent. it’s not the greatest job, but it’s a JOB. anyways, we have the pasta sale going on right now (burlington location) & EVERYone that i rang through last night had 6. or more. but unless the grocery manager is leering over my shoulder, i don’t care about limits.
a customer was talking about couponing and matching them up with sales & deals and i actually brought up your blog, to reference how much you save/spend and it blows my mind! the customer went on about deals in the states, with coupons, but i don’t know much about that.
anyways, your savings are awesome! i’m a pretty good sale shopper & love coupons, but i’ve never had any savings like yours!
p.s. you’re hilarious.
