3 Weeks to a Spring Clean Home: Task #1

Spring cleaning is in full swing and since I’ve been resting for 6 weeks, taking care of a newborn, this house has gotten a bit out of control. I’m very eager to get it clean and organized for the summer!

I plan on tackling 1 spring cleaning task every day, for 3 weeks. They will be kitchen tasks, bedroom tasks and around the house tasks.

I hope you’ll join me in this process!

    Here is Task #1:

Clean out and organize your purse, wallet and/or diaper bag.

Come back later tonight for an update on my progress with this task.

Please share your progress in the comments!

3 Weeks to a Spring Clean Home: Task #1

    1. Mia says:

I’ve been meaning to start spring cleaning for a while now so I’m glad you are posting this! I’m looking forward to a cleaner home in 3 weeks. I will start tonight with my purse, coupon binder/bag, wallet and other bags that I have lying around. :) Thanks for posting this – helps keep me on track!!!

    2. Julie says:

OK – will be starting this tonight! I had my second baby on April 3 – so with a 23 month old and a 4 week old, I’ve been pretty busy! Since I have a little out-of-town trip planned to go bridesmaid dress shopping and visit my parents tomorrow with the baby, I think that now would be a perfect time to clean out my purse and the diaper bag! Thanks for the inspiration!!

    3. Brenda He says:

Thanks I totally needed something to get myself in gear and start with this! I must say I’m a little curious as to what all the other days are, and if you’re making this list up as you go…. good reason to come and see what you post everyday :)

    4. Carrie H says:

The family just went on a trip to Calgary so I dumped the purse before we left so I need to clean the mess when we get home.

    5. Lindsey says:

I am up for the task and looking forward to it.

As I don’t have children, I will swap the diaper bad for my gym bag…who knows what has been left in there and for how long!

I may even try to get the boyfriend in on this – - wish me luck with that!

    6. Jamie says:

I am sooo on board with this!!! & am excited to follow and keep up.
      Thanks for this challenge :-)

    7. Katie says:

I sort of did this, in a panic, looking for a travel sized contact solution bottle. It was a success! I hate my purse/bags getting cluttered so I dump it every week, but when I switch purses I don’t dump it out, just grab the essentials and throw it in the closet…

    8. Dianne says:

I’m not sure if others know about FlyLady.net yet, but it’s a terrific site to help you get your house clean and clutter-free 15 minutes at a time. I just thought I’d tell others here because I signed up (for free, of course) last week and my house has already done a complete 360 from just 10 days ago. It’s a neat site with lots of tips and the big thing with her is: Stop being a perfectionist! It’s a great little site… just thought I’d share. :-D

    9. Marya says:

For once, I’m actually ahead on a task. Every time we have a long drive (visiting family or something) and my husband is driving, I clean out my wallet, purse and diaper bag. If there’s still time, I grab a few wipes and wipe down my side of the dashboard, door, and clean up the junk on the floor near me.

    10. Diane says:

Great idea. I love your motivation. I am going to try very hard to keep up with you. First task – the purse.

    11. Betty says:

was going to steam clean living room carpet today but those plans had to change when we had to take yougest daughter to emergency. She will be fine; carpets will still be waiting to be cleaned when I have the time to do it as family comes first

    12. Love the task list..will be following faithfully.
I normally go through my purse and wallet on a regular basis as I’m a very organized and clutter proof type of person. My coupon folder is in my purse too, which I sort to get rid of all month’s end coupons .

    13. Minou says:

Couponing sure doesn’t allow me to have a very organized purse all the time! I’m always throwing stray coupons and receipts in there!

    14. Paige. In Virginia. ON says:

Since when it comes to cleaning my OWN stuff i am such a procrastinator but I AM going to follow you on this.

Purse, Lunch bag And diaper bag and i guess my coupon binder would also be a good thing to clean out today.

    15. Heather Leanne says:

Excited to join you in this! My purse always ends up as a huge black hole. This is a good starter task :)
