We are -$264.90 this month. I am NOT HAPPY.

ahh… sorry, wasn’t sure.. I thought you were off work?
i don’t think you can get EI when you are employed.
i DO have a job (work from home), it’s just a slow period right now so i’m not making much.
I feel ya. We’re over budget every month. Our bills account for our entire income. It’s hard owning a house…
What’s worse is, my daughter just started outgrowing her clothes, and my preggo belly started outgrowing my pants… so this weekend, I had to splurge and go over budget by another $150 for clothes for the two of us. Blah.
Are you collecting EI right now? I was laid off in my 10th week of pregnancy with my daughter, and I had to go on EI – I ended up wasting 6 months of my maternity leave income by being on EI before the baby was born. We ended up working it out though, because when my DD was about 6 months old, I ran my own web publishing business for about 6 months, and then got a PT job on the side (evenings & weekends so we didn’t have to pay for daycare).
It’s really hard being unemployed during pregnancy. We were over budget HUGELY every month during that time (and after the baby was born) and now we are trying to catch up.
Anyway, you’ve got the financial smarts. I’m hoping you’ll have an easier time than I did.
