    No Frills Canada Price Match

Here is the price match policy for No Frills:

No Frills Canada Price Match Policy

If a competitor offers a lower price on any item that we carry in our store, simple show us an advertisement or receipt and we will sell you that item at the same price.

We will match the competitor’s price only during the effective date of the competitor’s advertisement or within 7 days of the date of the receipt.

    • Item must be identical (defined as same brand, size and attributes) and for produce, meat and bakery items, we reserve the right to determine a comparable item.
    • ‘Our major competitors’ and ‘geographical trade areas’ are determined solely by us and are based on a number of factors which can change from time to time.
    • Excludes multi-buys (eg. 2 for $4), ‘spend x, get x’, free, and discounts obtained through loyalty programs.

No Frills Canada – Price Match Policy

I was just at No Frills in Blenheim. Wanted to buy eggs for a price match price of 1.99 at Shoppers. Cashier said no and the Diary mgr said yes. They need to get their sh….t together. Cashier was very rude. Done shopping at NO FRILLS, where I shop twice a week!!!! I will price match at Walmart. NO WONDER THE U.S. STORES ARE DO SO WELL HERE AND THE CANADIAN STORES ARE NOT!!!

Been to No Frills today for the first time. While we got awesome deals because of the big $1 sale, they won’t allow PM and coupon at the same time. So nope, I’m not travelling that far for that. I’ll stick to Superstore and Walmart.

I price match with coupons at No Frills all the time. I think it really depends on the cashier you get and the rules they decide to make up that day.

    3. Wendi says:

I started price matching 2 years ago at No Frills every Saturday. First the cashiers were confused, then they got used to me.

Certain cashiers had supervisor overrides for price matching over 8 items codes. I became familiar with those as I always had at least 12 PM items.

I tried a human experiment by “dressing up” to go grocery shopping. White blouse, black pants. Like a waitress. I received friendly service and had less discussions about coupons when dressed better. It didn’t matter if the cashiers were new, old or my regular cashier.
I put on mommy clothes (jeans, Tshirt, pony tail) and had difficulty with multiple coupons and Pm. Sad but true.

I also tried another experiment. Male cashiers, new or old employees, don’t care and just want to get on with the job. Female employees, new or very experienced, think you are taking advantage of the No Frills Policy and scrutinize every coupon.

I’ve even had a Supervisor called over when trying to get President Choice Points for the No Frills bring your own bag policy. I claimed 20 bags. The supervisor reviewed the amount of money I had spent (not realizing I had many freebies, she didn’t actually count the bags) and told me I didn’t use 20 bags. She called me “ignorant” several times in front of 2 employees and 3 customers. (I had told the people behind me I was going to be an extra 5-10 minutes as I was PMing. They wanted to wait and watch).

In the end I think the attitude you project and your personal appearance are instantly judged and the cashiers, being human, respond accordingly.

I apologize on behalf of cashiers. I myself am one at No Frills in Brantford, and would never judge a person by their appearance. To me, everyone needs a break on saving money in this day and age. It shouldn’t matter if you look rich or if you look like you just climbed out of bed. I do it myself..and have been working on getting free or close to free deals almost all day today! lol
I’ve heard many horror stories about cashiers, and I always marvel at how some people are treated. I look at it as going the other way..if I was a customer I would want to be treated just as equal as if it was myself serving me. (did that make sense?) :P

my daily Friday routine – price matching whatever I need at walmart. results? no problems. but lo and behold, try to price match something at no frills. they have to call someone each time to sign off on it, there are stipulations upon stipulations beyond the ones that make sense and then when I tried to price match buying multiple bottles, I was told I can only price match up to 4. no wonder I barely go to no frills anymore. I sure hope walmart don’t start being pesty any time soon.

    5. Jen says:

Any idea how the matching with a receipt within 7 days works? Does that mean if I bought something at No Frills on the Wednesday as a price match and the flyer ended that day I could take my receipt back in and get that item price matched within 7 days of the original receipt? That’s how I read it.

    6. Disappointed says:

I am very disappointed. No Frills, will not match Save on Foods, IGA or Safeway….they say it is the card price, but the cards are free so what is the issue?

    7. pat slade says:

purchased pop at nofrills Sydney nova scotia. showed flyer from shoppers drugmart for price matching. cashier approved the match but when i arrived home and checked slip. she rang in the regular price of 1.99 not the shoppers price of .99 I returned with sale slip and flyer and was told they only price match from other grocery stores. I was not informed of this at time of purchase. not impressed with the attitude and the stores policy.

    8. Karolina says:

Yes…I had similar experience…in one store, I was told their “price match area” is only 5 km around that store…which had only Sobeys so that is the price they wanted to match only.

For me ..good bye No Frills…and HELLLOOOO WAL-MART!

    9. Chantelle says:

Thank you for your reply’s and your time. :)

    10. Brittney says:

They should also put in there ( as well as fresco) that they will only pm up to 4 of the item. I have been told multiple times at my no frills only 4..

      • Amanda says:

Ours matches all local stores and I have never had them limit the quantity either.

      • Julia says:

My Freshco will only PM up to 2 of an item. 4 or more would be so nice :)

      • Jen says:

Our local No Frills will only do two items per person per transaction, so you are lucky to get four. However, all you have to do is leave the store and walk back in to get more.

    11. teachermum says:

My No Frills is actually my favourite place to use coupons! Cantelle, that must only be your store as mine accepts price matches from all local stores.

    12. Chantelle says:

I went to no frills in sylvan lake Alberta last week. And they said they would only match Walmart and sobeys flyers. Is this true? Thank you for your time. :)
