  • 3 Weeks to a Spring Clean Home: Task #13 Update

The weather was beautiful today, so Elliott and I cleaned the vents on the front porch this morning. It was so nice to clean outdoors – it didn’t seem like a chore.

It was actually fun because we were enjoying sunshine at the same time.

Most of our vents were relatively clean, but the ones in the bathrooms got a good cleaning anyway.

Our main floor washroom had the dirtiest vent because Elliott goes in there to wash his hands after each meal and I guess he drops crumbs when he’s walking.

This is the vent that was in our upstairs bathroom. I’m pretty sure it’s covered in baby powder from the time Elliott decided to dump it all over the floor.

    Before

I scrubbed all of the vents with an old toothbrush dipped in warm, soapy water, then rinsed them off.

I left them on the porch to dry while we ate lunch inside.

Thanks, I LOVE it! You’re so on top of things … and all this with a newborn. You’re my superhero!

    2. Cassie says:

Lisa: Yep, there is a link at the bottom of this post. :)

Cassie, are all these cleaning tasks under one tab? And is there a master list?

Right now I don’t have the hours in the day to tackle one a day, but would like to try to do a few this long weekend! Thanks :)

    4. I have all plastic ones. I usually throw mine in the dishwasher as well. Yours looked very nice and clean- and nice to see Elliot helping again!

    5. Brianne says:

Thanks Cassie! Will adapt for my cleaning :)

Didn’t get to this task, but I’d put every vent I could into the dishwasher-works like a charm!

Heather: Kaylee is either sleeping while I clean, or I put her in her vibrating chair and she sits and watches us. She won’t stay in it long though!

Brianne: I made the list in advance. :) You can see all of the posts by clicking the link at the end of any spring cleaning post.

      Hi Cassie,

Thank you for sharing pictures of your progress. You look great and its nice seeing Elliott help out. My children are the same age as yours and I’m having a difficult time keeping up with the tasks. Like Elliott, my daughter enjoys helping me, but I find it hard with my newborn. May I ask what your secret is? I’m really falling behind.

    9. Brianne says:

      Hi Cassie,
Always love the helpful tips and ideas you send out for your readers :)
Just wondering if this is a list you made up to do or if you found it somewhere.
I did not get a chance to start when you did and am wondering if you can send along the list?
If not, no worries, I know you are a super busy mom :)
      Thanks, Brianne
P.S. My son loves to clean just like yours!!! Everytime I read posts that you wrtie about Elliott, I feel like he and my son are kindred souls :)
