  • 3 Weeks to a Spring Clean Home: Task #14 Update

I really thought I would struggle a lot more with today’s task than I actually did.

I love books, but refuse to keep them if they will only be read once, so I often get rid of them.

3 Weeks to a Spring Clean Home: Task #14 Update

I guess I must have done a purge of my books more recently than I remembered, because there weren’t too many to say goodbye to today.

My book shelf in the office was a mess, though.

3 Weeks to a Spring Clean Home: Task #14 Update

I took all of the books down, dusted them and cleaned the shelves.

I only found 3 books to get rid of (I actually had a duplicate of Clutter Rehab, so 1 of those is gone now).

Finally, I re-arranged the books on the shelf.

      teachermum; Hehe, thanks!

Elizabeth: This shelf is mostly my books. Elliott has a bunch in his room and my husband has a shelf above his desk with lots of school books.

    2. Marie says:

I have built in ceiling to floor bookshelves that take up several walls in different rooms and they still don’t hold all the books I have! I love books and read them over and over!

    3. Ruby says:

Please tell me you ripped the cover off of the What to Expect when Expecting and dumped it in the recycling bin!! That book has got to stop making the rounds, scaring pregnant women one at a time!!

    4. Elizabeth says:

LOL! That little bookshelf is so funny! As a high school English teacher with six years of university textbooks behind me and a penchant for going to used book sales, paring my books down to that number would be no small task. I’ve been purging for years, and I still have a ton of books! The problem is, I still use so many of them. I did finally get rid of all of the kids’ books I bought years ago when I taught in middle years.

Funny how the choice of books to keep can vary so much from person to person! Old copies of the Guinness Book of World Records would have been the first to go from my bookshelf!

    5. Dawn says:

Having 2 copies of Clutter Rehab is really ironic! Books are one of my weaknesses. But, when I moved in with my fiancee I purged from 4 bookshelves to 2.

    6. teachermum says:

There is no way I had time to tackle this project today, but I just wanted to say how cute your one little shelf is! Your brain would explode here!!!

I have that Peter Walsh book as well-an encyclopedia of great information!

    7. Rhonda says:

I cleared all my Danielle Steel books off my book shelf about a week ago … offered them up for sale over a mnoth ago on a local mom’s buy and sell site .. sold one and still have 74 left… looks like they will be getting picked up for charity in the next week or so if no one wants them……

    8. Cassie says:

laura: It’s amazing. One of my favourites!

    9. laura says:

Is your book “how to organize just about everything” a good read?
