3 Weeks to a Spring Clean Home: Task #14

Spring cleaning is in full swing and since I’ve been resting for 6 weeks, taking care of a newborn, this house has gotten a bit out of control. I’m very eager to get it clean and organized for the summer!

I plan on tackling 1 spring cleaning task every day (except Sundays), for 3 weeks. They will be kitchen tasks, bedroom tasks and around the house tasks.

I hope you’ll join me in this process!

    Here is Task #14:

    Purge books, dust book shelves.

Go through all of your books and get rid of those you no longer have any use for. If you’re never going to read it again, let it go.

Dust all of your books and book shelves, as well. I also suggest switching up the way you store your books, to prevent wear. For example, if you usually stand them up, stack them instead. If you usually stack them, stand them up.

Come back later tonight for an update on my progress with this task.

Please share your progress in the comments!

Definitely can’t do this one! I LOVE having stacks of books all over my apartment :)

ok so I am well behind everyone and this is another task I have to add to my growing list. I am hoping that every day I can tackle a few extra things to get caught up. Thank you for all the awesome motivation and to all the new great ideas from all you ladies. Off to clear some email and run the dishwasher and start some of those light fixtures and boxes of books I have in my upstairs hallway.

    3. Anita says:

I donate books to my local food bank. They have a library where anyone can go and buy books. The money they raise is spent on things like baby formula, diapers and meat for the clients of the food bank. a win-win!

A day is not enough time for this task!!!

I really need to purge the homeschooling books…at ages 21 and 23…I don’t think we are going to get to some of the stuff I still have for them to do!!! So much to learn!

    5. Katie says:

This I need to do in the worst way. I even have boxes of them in my garage that I haven’t looked at in almost 2 years!

I try not to buy books anymore, especially more common place ones. My favorite author is never on the best selling lists so I’ll support him. I try to borrow from friends or use the library now!
