3 Weeks to a Spring Clean Home: Task #8

Spring cleaning is in full swing and since I’ve been resting for 6 weeks, taking care of a newborn, this house has gotten a bit out of control. I’m very eager to get it clean and organized for the summer!

I plan on tackling 1 spring cleaning task every day (except Sundays), for 3 weeks. They will be kitchen tasks, bedroom tasks and around the house tasks.

I hope you’ll join me in this process!

    Here is Task #8:

Clean trash cans (both your indoor and outdoor cans).

It’s garbage night here, which means I am going to be cleaning all of the trash cans in our home.

I used to do this weekly, but found that it was too much work, since we have a trash can in almost every room. So now I do it every few months.

It’s actually been about 6 months since I did it last, yuck! This is something that really needs to be done. I’m glad it’s a nice sunny day so I can tackle this task outdoors.

Come back later tonight for an update on my progress with this task.

Please share your progress in the comments!

Do you have a list of all the tasks , so those of us that may have fallen behind could refer to? Not me of course ;)

My trash cans could totally use a good cleaning! I generally just use boiling hot water for the small garbage cans and let them air dry. The outdoor garbage cans will get hosed out this afternoon, and the kitchen one will be scrubbed with cleaner. I may also clean the compost bin, but that will have to wait until after it is emptied tomorrow. :)

I was just thinking that mine needed to be done and I haven’t done it since last summer when I could do them in the garage with the hose, after work today I’m not sure that will be possible… loving these tasks!
