What Should I Give My Grandparents For Christmas? (Reader Question)

Reader Question

Today’s Reader Question is from Veronica,

I’m done my Christmas shopping, but I still need to purchase something for my grandparents and I am stuck on what to get them. It seems as though they have everything they need already!

They always tell me not to buy them anything, but I want to get them at least something they can unwrap on Christmas morning. Any ideas? -Veronica

What can you tell Veronica? Do you have any ideas for grandparent gifts? Please share in the comments!

  1. Cara says:

How about food items – maybe some fancy chutney, a fruit cake, gourmet syrup or jams, or home baked goods.

  2. Ashley says:

I am doing food gift baskets for mine and including things they like that cost a bit of money since they have limited income. Some things I’ve picked up so far include: boxes of chocolate, several different kinds of crackers, peanut butter, jams, mini cereal packs, cough drops, etc.

Other years I have given gift cards for where they get their groceries and their gas.

Other ideas could be a gift certificate to the power company, cable/phone companies, etc.

  3. Erica Ashley says:

Give them the gift of spending time with them. Maybe a card with a prearranged dinner/lunch date.

  4. Olivia says:

Yes, fancy food items are always a hit, thoughtful and useful. Specialty flavours vinegar, olive oils, spreads, teas and coffees, etc. in a basket.
I often give this to my sister ( who is sixty) because she has everything and these are consumable .

If you think they would appreciate the gesture, maybe you could buy something from the World Vision gift catalogue in honour of them? Our grandparents were very touched by this gesture.
